Did you know that fresh air and sunshine can have a very positive effect on depression and many of the other difficult feelings that come along with grief? Social distancing does not mean you cannot spend some time outside each day. This Family Fun Friday we encourage you to get outside and get some vitamin D. Along with sunshine, movement such as walking will help release endorphins which will also help battle the negative grief feelings.

Something fun you can do as a family outside is go on a scavenger hunt. Below is a great list of things to try to find either in your back yard, a local park, or even walking down the street. Many communities are doing community-wide scavenger hunts where families will put an object, like a teddy bear, in their windows for children to find on their walks. So this weekend grab your sneakers and step outside and take a deep breath of that fresh air!
