Ryan’s Place provides peer-to-peer support groups for children, teens, and their families. Groups meet every other week. Ryan’s Place trains facilitators to lead these groups. All Ryan’s Place services are offered free of charge.
We offer facilitator training two different times a year, early fall and the first part of the new year. Our facilitator training is a 2-day training and is held on a Friday evening and all day the following Saturday.
Friday from 5:00 – 9:00 pm – session 1
Saturday from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm – session 2
Trainees facilitators must attend both sessions.
Friday, January 12th 5-9pm and Saturday, January 13th 9am- 4pm.
After the classroom training, the volunteer will be mentored by experienced facilitators as they work in children’s groups with different age groups, and adults for five consecutive program session. One further 3 hour class room session will be arranged to take place a couple of months after the initial training.
Ryan’s Place also has the following volunteer opportunities:
- Help serve dinner to the families
- Make a meal for our Monday Night Program
- Clerical help
- Special Events – join one of our committees
