Volunteer
Ryan’s Place provides peer-to-peer support groups for children, teens, and their families. Groups meet every other week. Ryan’s Place trains facilitators to lead these groups. All Ryan’s Place services are offered free of charge.
Training
We offer facilitator training two different times a year, early fall and the first part of the new year. Our facilitator training is a 2-day training and is held on a Friday evening and all day the following Saturday.
Friday from 5:00 – 9:00 pm – session 1
Saturday from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm – session 2
Trainees facilitators must attend both sessions.
Upcoming trainings
Friday, January 12th 5-9pm and Saturday, January 13th 9am- 4pm.
After the classroom training, the volunteer will be mentored by experienced facilitators as they work in children’s groups with different age groups, and adults for five consecutive program session. One further 3 hour class room session will be arranged to take place a couple of months after the initial training.
Ryan’s Place also has the following volunteer opportunities:
- Help serve dinner to the families
- Make a meal for our Monday Night Program
- Clerical help
- Special Events – join one of our committees
Take a Tour
Ryan’s Place Monday Night Program takes place at Silverwood Mennonite Church, 1745 W Lincoln Ave, Goshen, IN 46526. We are not affiliated with the church but have an ideal relationship with our proprietors. We provide bi-weekly grief support programs to children, teens and their families. We would love to give you a tour and tell you a little more about what we do. Whether you are an individual or have a group that would like a tour, give us a call and we will do our best to accommodate your schedule.
