Job Title: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Ryan’s Place is currently recruiting a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the organization following the upcoming retirement of longtime CEO, Aileac Deegan. This leadership transition comes at a pivotal and exciting time for the organization. Ryan’s Place has supported grieving children, teens, and families in our community for more than two decades. With a strong mission, a dedicated staff, a committed board, and a newly opened, fully donor-funded facility, the organization is entering an important new chapter of leadership. We are seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and visionary leader who will steward this work with care while guiding Ryan’s Place into the future. About Ryan’s Place

Ryan’s Place is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing grief support to children, teens, and their families after the death of a loved one. Our mission is to create a safe, supportive environment where healing hearts can find hope, connection, and understanding.

Position Summary

The Office Manager plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of Ryan’s Place. This position provides administrative, development, and program support while serving as a welcoming point of contact for families, volunteers, donors, and community partners. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, compassionate, and able to manage multiple priorities in a mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative & Office Support

Answer, screen, and return phone calls in a professional and compassionate manner
Greet visitors and serve as a friendly point of contact for families, volunteers, and guests
Maintain office files, records, and general administrative systems
Assist with scheduling, correspondence, and general office coordination

Development & Donor Database Support

Enter, update, and maintain accurate donor and gift records in the donor database
Ensure timely and accurate acknowledgment of donations
Assist with donor correspondence, mailings, and reports as needed

Grant Tracking & Writing Support

Track grant deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements
Assist with grant research, writing, and preparation of supporting materials
Maintain organized grant files and documentation

Program & Materials Support

Assist with preparation of program materials, packets, and resources for families and facilitators
Support program logistics, including printing, organizing, and inventory of supplies
Provide administrative support for special events, workshops, and fundraising activities
Track data information for family program groups, school groups, tours etc

Qualifications

High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
Previous administrative or nonprofit experience preferred
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Experience with data entry and database management (donor & program database experience a plus)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and compassion
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
