One book we often read at Ryan’s Place is “The Invisible String” by Patrice Karst. This book is great for children and adults of all ages. It reminds us that we are connected to one another, in this case by an invisible string, even though we are apart. When someone we love dies our love for them changes. We still love them, but can no longer give them hugs, or gifts, or play with them. We can still talk to them and are connected by the love we have for them, our invisible string. In the video below I read the book “The Invisible String”. As you listen, I encourage you to think about who you are connected to with invisible strings. How do you continue to feel a connection to your loved one when they are no longer living? Afterwards, take time to practice feeling that connection. Talk to them, write them a letter, draw them a picture, or think about a special memory that you have with them. As the book reminds us “… no one is ever alone”.
